James Arthur Jones, age 98, of Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away Friday morning May 10, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center after a very brief illness. Mr. Jones was born February 25, 1921 in Detroit, MI to the late Thomas and Louisa Williams Jones. He was a US Army Veteran where he served as an infantryman in the South Pacific during WWII. After the war he loyally served at Ford Motor Company for over 35 years. Mr. Jones was a loving father and friend. Known later in life for his gentle and kind spirit, he was also known for his stubbornness and persistence. He is survived by two sons, James (wife, Pam) Jones of Hudson Valley, NY, Raymond (wife, Sarah) Jones of Sparta, TN; brother, Ken (wife, Betty) Jones of Tawas City, MI; step-grand-children, Candice (husband, Ben) Schneider, Cari Boles; step-great-grandchild, Chloe' Boles; and his loyal dog, Ozzie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Olympia (Lynn) Teresa Tamarre Jones; daughter-in-law, Catherine Michelle Jones; and seven siblings. The family will hold two services. Memorial services in Tennessee will be at 1 p.m. Monday May 20 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. and again Monday from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 pm. Mr. Jones will be interred next to his wife in Michigan. A memorial service will be held at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Michigan on Saturday, July 6th. Memorial donations in honor of James A.
