Memorial services for Jamie Glenn Roberts, 46 of Chesnee, South Carolina formerly of Cookeville will be Saturday, Oct. 15 at 3 P.M. at Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Fred Hawkins, Bro. Tony Hawkins and Bro. Mike Hawkins officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Tennessee Army Air National Guard. Family will receive friends Saturday after 1 till service time at the funeral home. Mr. Roberts died suddenly, Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Spartanburg (S.C.) Regional Medical Center. He was born November 26, 1964 in Putnam County, Tn. and graduated from White County High School in Sparta in 1982. He attended Sparta Church of God while growing up in White County. He proudly served for 20 years in the Tennessee Army National Guard, 278th ACR, retiring as a CW2 attack helicopter pilot. He attended TTU and also completed degrees with honors at Nashville State Tech. He received numerous computer technical certifications. He had also been employed with Fleetguard in Cookeville. He married his high school sweetheart, Kimberly Hill and they moved to Spartanburg, S.C. many years ago. In his final days, he applied all of his energy in fighting by his wife"�s side in her battle with cancer. To those who knew him, he was very humble, compassionate, and had the kindest soul of anyone. He was preceded in death by grandparents: Evert Roberts of Cookeville and Henry & Rhoda McGhee Marlow of the Pleasant Hill Community of Cumberland County, Tn. Survivors in addition to his wife include mother Betty Hawkins and step-father Fred Hawkins of Cookeville, father Jim Roberts of Cookeville, 3 Step-brothers and their wives: Mike & Valerie Hawkins of Quebec, Tn., Rick & Rebecca Hawkins of Greeneville, S.C., Tony & Tenille Hawkins of Chattanooga, Tn. (Tony AKA Gator Harrison former radio personality in Cookeville), grandmother Lyda Roberts of Cookeville, his father & mother-in-law Phil & Edna Hill of Sparta, Tn.
