Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Jeanette Sloan, 78, of Cookeville, will be held at 10 am Tuesday, July 31, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Arms officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 3 "� 8 pm and again Tuesday from 9 am until time of the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Sloan died Friday, July 27, 2012 at Heritage Pointe Senior Living in Cookeville. She was born July 15, 1934, in Belcher, KY to the late Hearl Damron and Lennice Lester Damron. Mrs. Sloan was a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and military wife, supporting her late husband, Herb Sloan, in his military assignments and travels. Jeanette was an avid golfer. She had a wonderful gift of hospitality and never met a stranger. She was a volunteer with The Care Center Ministry and Reach for Recovery Breast Cancer Support. She is survived by two sons, John Douglas Sloan and wife Dawn of East Pointe, MI, and Gregory Randolph Sloan of Temperance, MI; two daughters, Dr. Teri Anderson and husband Mike of Cookeville, and Janlyn Messina and husband Rocco of Candler, NC; sister, Janice Cool of Belcher, KY; eleven grandchildren; Nicole Sloan, Jake Sloan, Amy Beth Sloan, Harmony Langford, Ashley Sloan, Brandy Sloan, Cassidy Sloan, Casey Norrod and husband Joe, Clint Anderson and wife Jenny, Eric Messina, and Priscilla Messina; and seven great-grandchildren, Kenna Norrod, Cooper Norrod, Sloane Norrod, Gage Wakula, River Langford, Jackson Langford, and Aiden Bradley. Pallbearers will be Joe Norrod, Doug Sloan, Rocco Messina, Jake Sloan, Clint Anderson, Cooper Norrod, and Mike Anderson. Memorial contributions may be made to The Women"�s Center at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, 251 West Third Street, Cookeville, TN 38501.
