Funeral services for Dorothy (Joanne) Mae Romero, 71 of the Mayland Community in Cumberland County, will be held Thursday, August 11 at 10 am from Horner Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Johnny Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in the Mayland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 "� 8 pm and again Thursday from 9 am until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Romero died Monday, August 8 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born February 23, 1939 in Salone"�s Valley, KY to the late James and Carrie Garrett Martin. Mrs. Romero was retired factory worker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Bernice Marlow, Bonnie Wallace and brother, Bruce Martin. She is survived by her husband of 1o years, Jorge Romero of the Mayland Community (whom she married May 3, 2001); four sisters and one brother-in-law, Opal Thompson of Crossville, Rena and Ken Geibig of Cookeville, Ruby Waltier of Warren, MI, and Wilma Martin of Mt. Clemens, MI. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
