John "Yohanan" Serra

Graveside funeral services for John Arthur “Yohanan” Serra, age 61 of Rickman, will be Tuesday morning, September 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Varela Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 at the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. “Yohanan” passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011 at his home. He was a believer in YHWH and served as a Minister of Besorah “The Good News” and loved singing Messianic Music. Before moving to Cookeville Yohanan worked for LaQuinta Hotels in New York. Mr. Serra is survived by his wife Lisa “Elisheva” Serra; four children Johnny Serra, Suzie Serra, Chrisse Serra and Eddie Serra; his mother Nieves Valdez Knowles; one brother Henry Serra Jr.; and four sisters Bande Serra, Graciela Arroyo, Katherine “Kat” Arroyo and Barbara Arroyo. Yohanan is also survived by five grandchildren. In addition to his father, Henry Serra Sr, Yohanan was preceded in death by a sister, Carolina Arroyo.
