Judith Augustson

Memorial services for Judith "Judy" Ann Augustson, 80 of Cookeville, will be Saturday, August 1 at 7 PM at the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Bro. Larry Pedigo will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 PM until service time. Due COVID-19 social distancing will be observed. Mrs. Augustson died Friday, July 24, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born Monday, June 24, 1940 in Munising, Michigan to the late Adolph and Aune Marian Niemi Mattson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Edwin Augustson, sisters Cindy Mattson and Jean Hines. Judy was a retired Electronic Technician with Laser Alignment, INC. in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed cross stitch, stained glass, working in her flowers and garden and her cat, Miss T. She taught line dancing at the Algood Senior Citizens. Survivors include son, Erik Augustson of Algood; daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa (Mike) Thurlow of Cookeville, Kristen (Rick) Kelly of Granville, Michigan; sisters, Linda (Danny) Hinley, Louise Mattson all of Glendale, AZ; brothers, Fred (Glenda) Mattson of Glendale, Chuck Mattson of Dearborn Heights, Mi; grandchildren; Aaron Augustson, Seth Augustson, Mary Tuin and Gary Tuin.
