Funeral services for Mr. William Kenneth Dietz, 81, of Cookeville will be held 11 am Saturday, January 19, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Looper officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9 am until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Dietz died Monday evening January 14, 2013 at Standing Stone Care and Rehabilitation in Monterey. He was born April 10, 1931 in Putnam County, Tennessee to the late Harry Denny and Emma Jane Bilbrey Dietz. He was baptized at an early age at Brown"�s Mill Baptist Church (Caney Fork Baptist Church). Mr. Dietz served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War as a B29 camera repairman and photographer. He formerly was a car dealer; worked a number of years as a truck drive of Colonial Trucking and Cherokee Furniture; and owned and operated Dietz Trucking Company. In later years, he loved traveling in his motor home; tending to his black Angus cattle; and spending time with his four footed best friend "Dawg"�. He was a kind and caring person helping his parents and others in need. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Paul Dietz, Walter Walter Dietz, Horace Dietz, Edward Dietz, and Charlie Dietz. Survivors include his sister, Bonnie Baker of Dayton, OH; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Lex Dietz of Cookeville and Eugene & Emogene Dietz of Nashville and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
