Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Freeman Wilmoth, 78 of Cookeville, will be held Friday October 18 at 11 a.m. at the Cookeville Seventh-Day Adventist Church (2700 Hwy 111 North). Interment will follow in Phillips Cemetery. Elders Mario Cruz and Terry Clem will officiate. Mr. Wilmoth died Monday October 14, 2013 at Heritage Point Senior Living after an extended illness. He was born on May 15, 1935 in Cookeville to the late Claude Ensor and Lela Pearl Freeman Wilmoth. Mr. Wilmoth was raised in Cookeville and graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 1957 with a B S Degree in Business. Following college, he spent time in the U.S. Army Reserves exiting with the rank of Captain. He was an independent insurance agent for 44 years and co-owner of Wilmoth Insurance Agency, Inc. serving as President until his retirement. Mr. Wilmoth was an active in the community serving as a former member of the Cookeville Jaycees, former past chairman of the Christmas shopping tour for under privileged children, board member of the American Red Cross, and charter member of the Model A Ford Club. Mr. Wilmoth a charter member of the Gerhart Memorial Seventh-Day Adventist Church now known as the Cookeville Seventh-Day Adventist Church where he served in many capacities including Elder, Deacon, Bible teacher, and chairman of various church committees. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, James Lee Wilmoth and his granddaughter, Marissa Lynnette Wilmoth. A devoted husband and loving father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Robbie Jean Brotherton Wilmoth (whom he married September 27, 1957 in Cookeville); daughter, Vickie Gail Wilmoth; son and daughter-in-law, Roger Kenneth and Mary Wilmoth; six grandchildren, Bradley, Benjamin, Juliana, Austin, Valerie, and Vanessa Wilmoth; his brother Claude Keith (Pat) Wilmoth all of Cookeville and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bradley Wilmoth, Benjamin Wilmoth, Keith Wilmoth, Larry Wilmoth, Kevin Wilmoth, Alton Freeman, Bob Ley, and Bob Leonard. Mr. Wilmoth's family will receive friends Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
