COOKEVILLE-Funeral services for Lassie Belle Gaw, 92, of Cookeville will be held Saturday, April 30 at 11 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Bro. Jan Cupp will officiate. Mrs. Gaw passed away Thursday morning, April 28, 2011 at Masters Health Care Center in Algood. She was born April 14, 1919 in Clay County, TN to the late Thomas Radford and Polly Ann Wiley Steward. Mrs. Gaw was a member of Willow Avenue Church of Christ. She was a homemaker; a former associate of the Cookeville Shirt Factory; and a member of the Cookeville Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Gaw, four sisters, Gladys Coffee, Lizzie Hawkins, Sadie Mae Steward and Bonnie Brewer, five brothers, Henry Steward, George Steward, Millard Steward, Oliver Steward and Kirt Steward. Survivors include her daughter, Katherine Gaw; dear friends, Roy Gaw and Thelma Ferrell all of Cookeville; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements (931)526-6111.
