Funeral services for Leslie Brown Alexander, 95, of Cookeville will be held Friday, January 31 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Head officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Alexander died Thursday morning January 30, 2014 at Kindred (Masters) Healthcare Center in Algood. He was born June 6, 1918 in DeKalb County, TN to the late James Isaac and Alton Smith Alexander. He was of the Baptist Faith and a farmer before becoming disabled. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Alexander, Billy Alexander, and Ike Alexander; and his sister, Dorothy Beckham. Survivors include his son, Paul Alexander of Detroit, MI; five grandchildren; four sisters and a two brothers-in-law, Frances and husband, Jackie Rigsby, Mary Foster all of Smithville, Audry Elem of Nashville, and Nancy and husband, Bill Callwell of McMinnville, TN. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. His family will receive friends Friday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
