Funeral services for Mrs. Lila Eloise Ligon, 83 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday October 17 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Dow Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Mrs. Ligon died Tuesday afternoon October 15, 2013 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born May 15, 1930 in Putnam County, Tennessee to the late Arles Carmen and Annie Mae Allen Knight. Mrs. Ligon was a retired associate with McCord's Manufacturing with 31 years of service. She was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Flora Wassom. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Edward "Spott" Ligon (whom she married September 25, 1949 in Cookeville); two sisters, Lellie Huddleston and Jean King both of Cookeville; niece, Teresa England; and five nephews, Larry and Mark King, Bob and Bill Cumby, and Donnie Wassom. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Ligon's family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
