Lois Davis

Funeral services for Janie Lois Davis, age 87 of Cookeville will be 11 a.m. Monday January 30 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Chris Blair will officiate. Interment will follow at Browns Mill Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. and again Monday from 10 a.m. until service time.

Lois passed away Thursday evening January 26, 2023 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was born December 18, 1935 in Putnam County, TN to the late Horace and Ina Mackie Henry.

Lois was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church and former member of the Order of the Eastern Star Cookeville Chapter No. 152. She worked as a seamstress at Red Kap, Wilson Sporting Goods, and Norwalk Furniture in Cookeville prior to retirement.

She is survived by her son, Martin McDaniel (Willa Burgess) of Cookeville; sisters, Edith Bradley of Sparta, Ruth Jackson Young of Rickman, and Virginia Matheney of Nashville; grandson, Sammy McDaniel; two great grandchildren, Cole and Baylee McDaniel; nephews, Rick Henry, Mark Matheney, Danny Matheney, and Mike Jackson; nieces, Felicia Devine, Delanie Henry, Mona Taylor, and Monica Robinson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William "Bill" McDaniel, second husband, John "Bud" Davis; brother, Harlen Henry; granddaughter, Kamala Smith; niece, Pam Matheney; and nephew, Donald Henry.
