Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Grimes, 96 of Cookeville will be held Thursday June 2 at 11 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Bro. Clarence Deloach and Bro. Ernest Abston will officiate. Mrs. Grimes died suddenly Monday May 30, 2011 at NHC of Cookeville. She was born July 19, 1914 in Putnam County to the late George Washington and Mildred Lassifine Williams Bullington. She was a member of Willow Avenue Church of Christ and a retired telephone operator with the former General Telephone with over 35 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Dibrell Grimes; two sisters, Jewell Bullington Fox and Aline Bullington Swift; and three brothers, Clyde Bullingotn, Ralph Bullington, and Leonard Bullington. Survivors include her son, William (Bill) Henry Grimes of Cookeville; granddaughter, Amy Grimes and great granddaughter, Cassity McClure both of Whitter, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Winnell & Valerie Bullington of South Gate, MI; sisters-in-law, Nettie Grimes Ford of Cookeville; Louise Grimes Wilson and husband, Clarence of Baxter; nieces, Elise Swift Williamson, Dianne Fox Gill and Vivian Bullington Daniel; and nephews, Jack Bullington, Ralph (Sammy) Swift, Stanley Bullington, Bobby Swift, Terry Bullington and Rodney Bullington. Mrs. Grimes family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
