Lois Hartman

Memorial Services for Lois Eva Hartman, 92 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, February 28 at 7 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Johnny Fox will officiate. Burial will follow at later date in Zion Church of Christ Cemetery in Portersville, OH. Mrs. Hartman's family will receive friends Friday from 4 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Hartman died Wednesday February 26, 2014 at NHC of Cookeville. She was born October 15, 1921 in Perry County, Ohio to the late Alonzo and Mary Elizabeth Gilliam Rhodes. Mrs. Hartman worked as an Administrative Assistant with the Xerox Corporation. She moved from Columbus to Cookeville in 2007. She is survived by daughter Mary Jo Smith and husband Mike of Cookeville; son, Thomas Hartman of Thornville, OH; granddaughter, Patty Marsh and husband Rick, grandson, Barry Smith and wife Deanna, all of Cookeville; and great-grandchildren, Hailey Slatton and Gabby and Molly Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur William Hartman (who died April 14, 1980). Mrs. Hartman's family suggests memorial contributions be made to POPS-Pals of the Pooches at White Co. Animal Shelter, 5600 Gum Springs Mountain Road, Sparta, TN 38583.
