Lorene Reed

Funeral services for Mrs. Lorene F. Reed, age 87 of Cookeville, were held Friday, March 5, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. John Peece officiated. Interment followed in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Her family received friends Thursday 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and again Friday from 9:00am until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Reed died Tuesday March 2, 2021 at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County. She was born June 25, 1933 in Overton Co., TN to the late Alex and Elberta Clouse Farley. Mrs. Reed worked as an associate at Acme Boot Company. She also worked in the cafeteria at Park View Elementary. She enjoyed gardening and canning the produce from her garden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Reed; sisters, Sue Farley and Jeana Hooten; and by brother, Chester Farley. She is survived by son, Ricky Reed and wife Amanda Williams; grandchildren, Nevaeh Williams and Ariel Williams; special cousin, Janice Finley; and by several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were family and friends. Her family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Lorene's many caregivers who extended kind and excellent care to her for many years.
