COOKEVILLE-Memorial services for Laura Lee "Lorrie" Katz, 48 of Cookeville, will be Saturday, April 1 at 3 PM from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Dr. Charles McCaskey will officiate. Lorrie passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born December 10, 1968 in Elgin, Illinois to Kay Thompson Katz of Cookeville and the late Howard W. Katz. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by sister Cindy Thiessen, brothers Bradley and Garrick Katz. She was a 1986 graduate of Buffalo Grove High School in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Medical Billing and Coding. She was an Accountant with Precision Molding in Sparta for the past seven years. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially the grandchildren. She was an accomplished artist and loved spending time at the beach. Survivors in addition to her mother include husband, Harold Eugene Phy, Jr. of Cookeville, daughters Danielle Lawson of Cookeville and Shenna Wheeler of Gallatin, sons and a daughter-in-law Josh and Samantha Lawson, Shawn Lawson and Ross Phy all of Cookeville, Blake Phy of Indiana, sister and brother-in-law Dayna and John Piper of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, grandchildren: Mason and Alaina Lawson and Aubrey Wheeler, nieces Khristen Fritzshe and Nikki Schmidt. Lorrie's family will receive friends Saturday from 1 PM until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, P.O.
