Funeral services for Mrs. Marsha Lee Halk, age 71 of Sparta, will be held Friday, December 31st at 1:00 p.m. in the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Maston Jackson will officiate. Interment will follow in Saylors Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Halk died Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at her residence . She was born October 22, 1950 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Ottie and Pearl Short. Marsha was a true lady. She was a loving, easy going person who loved people. She was a member of Hampton's Crossroads Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Mike Halk; daughters, Maria (Anthony) Wright and Melissa (Brian) Baker; grandchildren, Christina Keisala and Cody Wright and Ashley and Abby Baker; sister, Rosanne Afentul; and by several nieces. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Memorial contributions are asked to be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
