Martha Deshazer Duncan

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Ann DeShazer Duncan, age 76 of Cookeville and formerly of Russellville, KY, will be held Sunday, March 6th at 2 p.m. at the Russellville First Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time at the church. Burial will follow the service at Maple Grove Cemetery. Minister Jim Short will officiate. In addition, Mrs. Duncan's family will receive friends Saturday from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Mrs. Duncan died Friday morning, March 4, 2016 at Life Care Center of Sparta in Sparta, TN. She was born June 1, 1939 in Russellville to the late James Donald and Hattie Frances Pillow DeShazer. Mrs. Duncan was a life-long member of Russellville First Christian Church. She retired from South Central Bell as a Service Representative. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Rodney Silvey of Cookeville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald "Duck" and Dena Duncan of Russellville, KY and David Duncan of Cadiz, KY; eight grandchildren: Lindsey Silvey (Chad Blair), Amanda (Anthony) Buck, Adam (Michelle) Duncan, Jessica Duncan, Olivia Duncan, Julie Parker, Cayla (Josh) Rios, and Corey Duncan; 17 great-grandchildren; and sister, Margaret Jane Wallace of Cookeville. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Mrs. Duncan's name. Mrs. Duncan's family will serve as pallbearers.
