Mary Evans

Memorial services for Mary Wallace Evans, age 87 of Cookeville, were held at 6 p.m. Tuesday July 6 at Algood United Methodist Church. Pastor Albert Willis officiated. The family received friends Tuesday from 5 p.m. until service time at the church. Mary passed away Wednesday June 23, 2021 at Signature Health Care of Putnam County. She was born June 6, 1934 in Niagara Falls, NY to the late George Wallace McKenzie and Isabella Stephens McKenzie. Mary was an active member and poet laureate at Algood United Methodist Church. She resided at Heritage Pointe where she enjoyed activities and friendships. She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Janet) Bowling, Robert Bowling, of Cookeville, Charles (Lisa) Bowling of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Isabella Allen of Deland, FL; and grandchildren, Wesley and Carson Bowling, Rachel (Ryan) Stephens, and Mahala Kipp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Evans; sisters, Beatrice Cochrane and Jeanetta Hamilton; and grandson, Sean Bowling.
