Mary "Sharon" Allen

Funeral Services for Mary 'Sharon' Allen age 66 of Cookeville will be held on Monday Aug 19th 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will following in the Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday Aug 18th from 5 until 8 P.M. Mrs. Allen passed away on Friday Aug 16th at Masters Health Care. She was born April 20th, 1947 in Putnam County to the late Jesse & Julia White Proffitt. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was a very loving, gentle and compassionate lady continually offering a helping hand to those in need. She was a dedicated worker at Park View Elementary School for over thirty years. Sharon is survived by her of husband of 47 years Ezra Allen. She is also survived by her son; Tim (Pam) Allen of Cookeville, two brothers; Jerry (Reba) Proffitt of Cookeville, Joe (Linda) Proffitt of Hilham, three sisters; Frankie Meadows of Cookeville, Janie (Ray) Brady of Tullahoma and Vickie Herron of Cookeville, six grandchildren; Brittany, Stephanie, Kayla, Austin, Caleb and Jordan Allen. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son; Jeremy Allen and three brothers; Jackie, Gene and Hulon Proffitt. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Bro. Frank Rogers and Pastor Kevin Thomas will officiate the service.
