Mary Susie Ray

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Louise "Susie"� Ray, 50 of the Phifer Mountain Community will be held Saturday October 13, at 11 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jason Groe and Rev. Zack Buckner will officiate. Mrs. Ray died suddenly Thursday October 10, 2012 at her home. She was born September 27, 1962 in Indianapolis, IN to Rev. Tex Allen and Mary Lee Light Boles of Cookeville She was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Ray was a long-time cafeteria employee with Putnam County Schools, working a number of years at Upperman High School and for the past 20 years as Cafeteria Manager at Cookeville High School where she was affectionately known as "Miss Mary"�. Survivors in addition to her parents include her husband of 30 years, Mike Ray (whom she married April 9, 1982 in Cookeville); two daughters and a son-in-law, Rebecca Ray of Cookeville and Sarah & Andrew Hall of Baxter; sister, Vicky Palk; brother and sister-in-law, Allen & Terri Boles; and mother-in-law, Barbara Langford Ray all of Cookeville. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Ray"�s family will receive friends Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
