Myra Williams Burton

Funeral services for Mrs. Myra Burton, age 59 will be held Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 1:00 pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Cameron Wilson will officiate. Friends are invited to come by the funeral home to sign the guest book and pay their respects on Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Due to Covid-19 precautions, social distance measures will be observed. Interment will follow in the Paran Cemetery. Mrs. Burton died Monday May 25, 2020 at NHC of Cookeville. She was born August 18, 1960 in Algood, TN to the late Dow and Pearl Wilbanks Williams. She was a graduate of the former Rickman High School. Myra had an outgoing personality and never met a stranger. She made friends easily and was eager to help others. She enjoyed sewing and cooking and welcoming guests into her home. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed attending Cookeville Church of God in her latter years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Richard Williams and Donny Williams; and by sister-in-law, Linda Williams. She is survived by sons, Al (Billie Sue) Wilson of Cookeville and Andy (Amanda) Wilson of Monroe; daughter, Alea Cooper of Algood; grandchildren, Tommy, Charlie, and Rylee Wilson. Ethan, Blaine, Haven and Pypper Wilson and Kade Cooper and Jada Nelson; and by brother, Gary Williams of Bowling Green, KY. Her grandchildren and nephew, 'Huggy Williams', will serve as pallbearers.
