Nola Lafever

Funeral services for Nola Pearl Jones LaFever, age 100 of Cookeville, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday February 12 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Dr. Charles McCaskey will officiate. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Friday from 4 - 6 p.m. and again Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time. Mrs. LaFever passed away peacefully Wednesday evening February 2, 2022 at her home. She was born January 20, 1922 in White County, TN to the late Clarence Lee Jones Sr. and Tennie Elizabeth Green Jones. She lived a full and long life and was loved by many. In addition to living in Tennessee, Nola lived in Hawaii (both as a U.S. Territory and a State), San Diego and Foster City California, Tokyo Japan (after WWII), and Houston Texas. She treated everyone with a cheerful smile and quick wit. She is survived by four nieces and nephews: Amy Elizabeth Jones Campbell and husband Walter Campbell of Smyrna, TN, Thomas Howard Jones and wife Vanessa Jones of Cookeville, TN, Mary Levena Jones Kinnaman and husband Jim Kinnaman of Marietta, GA, and Clarence Lee Jones III and wife Kimberly Lynn Jones of Cookeville, TN; ten great nieces and nephews: Westbrook Daniel Campbell and wife Sarah, David Walter Campbell and wife Elizabeth, Sarah Elizabeth Jones and husband Cole, Ethan Thomas Jones, Matthew Gray Jones, Emma Catherine-Grace Jones, Kirk Hunter Kinnaman, Elizabeth Rush Kinnaman, Charles Deacon Jones, and Clarence Lee Jones IV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Hunt LaFever who passed away in 2004 after 58 years of marriage; two sisters: Nell Mae Jones and Gertrude Thomas Jones; and two brothers Charlie Leon Jones and Dr. Clarence Lee Jones, Jr. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cookeville Putnam Animal Shelter or the Putnam County Humane Society.
