It's with great sadness to announce the death of Patricia Moore Dickens. Mrs. Dickens died January 21, 2015 at her home in Cookeville. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Her life's work was helping others, by providing comfort to others during loss of loved one or just helping a friend. She was with Lazarus House Hospice from 1995 to 2006 she later retired. In 2004 she helped open Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough, GA while taking care of her sick parents. Her final passion was volunteering with Heart of the Cumberland to help children with the loss of loved one in 2009. Mrs. Dickens was born August 28, 1947 in Atlanta, GA to the late Gary G. and Betty Jo Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dickens. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Michelle and Jeoff Hamilton of Atlanta, GA, Lesa Schirmacher of St. Petersburg, FL; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jennifer Schirmacher of Denver, CO; two step-daughters and son-in-law, Joan and Dan Strong of Nashville, TN, Jean Dickens of Jacksonville, FL; two step-sons, John Dickens of Rome, GA and Paul Dickens. Her brother and sister-in-law, Gary Jr. and Debbie Moore of Long Island, NY; sister, Jackie Black of Columbus, GA; three grandchildren, Bryant and Lizzie Hamilton, and Michael Trey Schirmacher.
