A memorial service for Paul Sheldon Fehr, 80 of Cookeville will be held Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Algood United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Mayo officiating. Mr. Fehr died August 31, 2017 in Signature Health Care of Putnam County. He was born Monday July 5, 1937 in Easton, Pennsylvania to the late Paul Howard and Lena Sandt Fehr. Paul was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. A graduate of Oklahoma City University, he worked as an industrial engineer for Air Product & Chemicals in Allentown, Pennsylvania and Liberal, Kansas until retiring in Cookeville in 1995. Paul was a member and former Sunday School teacher at Algood United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Trexlertown, PA Masonic Lodge. Before his illness, he enjoyed bicycling, and in later years he loved to feed the neighborhood cats, saying that caring for them "helped keep him young." Mr. Fehr is survived by his wife, Joyce Kohler Fehr of Cookeville (whom he married October 4, 1975 in Albertis, Pennsylvania); two daughters, Deborah (Bob) DeBaecke of Fairview, Tennessee and Katie (Phillip) Corley of Stillwater, Oklahoma; a sister, Dr. Barbara J. Fehr Husson of Chatham, New York; three grandchildren, Robert Paul DeBaecke, Ky Corley and Addie Corley and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Donations may be made to Alzheimer's TN 1459 Interstate Dr. Cookeville, TN 38501.
