Funeral services for Pauline Marie Hargis, 79 of Baxter were held Thursday, April 15 at 2 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment followed in Boiling Springs Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 PM and after 10 AM Thursday until service time at the funeral home. Bro. Cameron Wilson officiated. Mrs. Hargis died Tuesday morning, April 13, 2021 at her home. She was born March 28, 1942 in Cookeville to the late James Cecil and Dora Dixon Burgess. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd "Buddy" Richard Hargis on October 17, 2014, a son James Loyd Hargis, sister Shirley Baldwin, brothers Joe, Jerry and J.C. Burgess. She was a homemaker and also worked at Russell Stover of Cookeville. Survivors include daughters Patsy (David) Shively and Jana Hargis and fiancee Patrick York all of Baxter, sister Barbara Lewis of Cookeville, granddaughters Tara (Cameron) Wilson, Tiffany Carr, great-grandchildren: Aydan, Bray, Camdyn, Carson, River and Benjamin, and a host of nieces and nephews. Due to COVID-19 adhered to social distancing measures. Cameron Wilson, David Shively, Larry & Billy Spurlock, Ricky Rodgers & Jack Loftis served as pallbearers.
