Funeral services for Retha Jean Collett, of Cookeville and formerly of Dayton, OH, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday December 15 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Ronnie Sparks will officiate. Interment will follow at Sand Springs Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time. Retha passed away Sunday December 12, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born in Putnam County, TN to the late Ziney and Mae Braddham Sparks. Retha was retired from Elder-Beerman Stores in Dayton, OH. She is survived by her grandson, Micheal (Sandra) Hickey of Crossville; sisters, Carolyn Jackson of Cookeville and Gladys Buckner of Dayton, OH; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Danny Hickey; sisters, Sonia Reed and Reba Jasinski; brothers, Willie, Carlos, and Coy Sparks.
