Funeral services for Bro. Milford Bass Cox, 94 of Cookeville, will be Tuesday, March 22 at 1 PM from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery with military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 8 PM and after 11 AM Tuesday until service time at the funeral home. Pastor Donnie Davidson and Pastor Bob Sotis will officiate. Bro. Cox passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Signature HealthCare-Putnam County in Algood, Tennessee. He was born February 23, 1928 in Lauderdale County, Alabama to the late Martin Lee and Mamie Bass Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Estell (Lee) Cox on October 7, 2006, sons David and Tim Cox, grandson Jacob Nash, sisters Robbie (Bill) Cantrell, Mozell (Vince) Decker, Lillian (Hugh) Crawford, Blanche (Joe) McCafferty, brothers Villard (Edith) Cox, Herbert (Willie) Cox, Odas (Viree) Cox, Floyd (Gladys) Cox, sister-in-law Rosa Cox. He was a WW2 Marines veteran. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, playing golf, doing yard work, spending time with family and friends, especially the grandchildren. In 1959 Bro. Cox was ordained and began his lifetime ministry as a pastor of many churches in the Upper Cumberland and throughout Tennessee. He was currently attending Life Church of Cookeville. He continued to be a faithful servant until God called him home. Survivors include daughter Debbie (Sam) Holm of Cookeville, brother William Cox of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, grandchildren, Charity Cox, Josh Cox, Kisa Biggs, Jeremy Nash and Kevin Cox, 9 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.
