Richard Alex Granacki

Mr. Richard Alex Granacki, age 71, a resident of Cookeville TN passed away at Master’s Health Care Center on Friday, May 20, 2011. Richard was born on February 17, 1940 in Michigan City IN to the late Alex 'Ollie' and Mary 'Sue' Bowman Granacki. After retiring from the Indiana State Prison system as a Supervisor, he lived briefly in Las Vegas NV before moving to Cookeville TN. He was a familiar face to many at the Spring Street Market where he worked part time during his retirement. Mr Granacki is survived by three children, Debra Granacki of N. Las Vegas NV, Monica Granacki of Michigan City IN, and Steven Granacki of Laporte IN: and four grandchildren Brooklynn, Michelle, Matthew, and Christopher. He is also survived by his long time companion Karen Yergler of Cookeville. In addition to his parents Richard was preceded in death by one son, Richard Alex Granacki Jr. The family has chosen Cremation. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held at a later date.
