Funeral services for Mr. William Robert Johnson, 80 of Cookeville will be held Wednesday February 4 at 11 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Pastor Glenn Burks officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Johnson died Monday morning February 4, 2013 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born November 10, 1932 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Haskell and Frances Christine Davenport Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a charter member of Stevens Street Baptist Church. He was well-known for his guitar playing and loved to play music with his friends. He began professional career in the dry cleaning profession at age 15; working at several dry cleaners in Cookeville; and until his retirement in 1995, owned and operated Hour-O-Matic Dry Cleaners for 25 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Pauline Hunter Johnson; daughter, Linda Hill; and two brothers, Harlen Johnson and Wayne Johnson. Survivors include his two granddaughters and their husbands, April and Kevin Frieze and Kristin and John Short; four great grandchildren, Kaden Frieze, Katelyn Frieze, Benjamin Short, and Samuel Short all of Cookeville; sisters, Helen Stringer of Cookeville, and Shirley and her husband Glenn Burks both of Nashville; brother, Kenneth Johnson of Cookeville; son-in law, Benji and his wife, Lanette Hill; and his sister-in-law, Dorothy Reeves of Cookeville. The Veterans Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Johnson"�s family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 p. m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
