Mr. Robert Vance "Robbie"� Nolan, 69 of Cookeville died Wednesday August 17, 2011 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. His wishes were for cremation and no services are planned. He was born July 28, 1942 in Fulton County, IL to the late Robert C. and Evelyn Rose Armstrong Nolan. He was the former owner of Duck Island Sand and Gravel Company in Liverpool, IL. After moving to Cookeville, he worked with Stevens Realty and Bock Properties. In 1958, when Mr. Nolan was 16 (and the youngest participant) he won the Grand National Trap Shooting Contest at Vandelea, Ohio, breaking 100 out of 100 targets. Mr. Nolan loved being outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and later gave up hunting for observing nature. His passion was playing golf with his wife and friends. His family was very dear to him, especially time spent playing and teasing his grandkids Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Sue Moorhouse Nolan (whom he married August, 31, 1978); son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Shelly Nolan of Glasford, IL; step-daughter, Lyn Donaho of Cookeville and step-son, Mike Spenny of Portland, OR; sister, Jennifer McCombs of Lewistown, IL; seven grandchildren, LaNaya Donaho, Tavish Nolan, Tory Nolan, Jessica (Dustin) Cale, Ashley Winters, Hanna Nolan, Heath Nolan; three great grandchildren, Caleb Ellis, Chloe Ellis and Brayden Cale. Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert V. Nolan Memorial Fund c/o The National Bank 801 North Main Street Canton, IL 61520 or any children"�s charity.
