Robert Rivers

Funeral services for Robert (Bob) Everett Rivers Jr., age 83, of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 9 at Dyer Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Haney officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 - 7 p.m. and again Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Rivers passed away Monday evening, March 6, 2017 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born December 7, 1933 in Nashville, TN to the late Robert Everett Rivers Sr. and Susan Bowers Rivers. Mr. Rivers was a graduate of Isaac Litton High School in Nashville, TN. He worked as a Sales Engineer for Multipro Computers until his retirement in 2001. Since retirement, he had been busy with boating, fishing, and traveling. He was a loving husband and stepfather. He enjoyed traveling and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Sherell Rivers. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Kirby Rivers; two step-sons, Dana and Roy Crouch; two sisters, Linda Morrison and Dianne Patterson; five grandchildren, Athena Harris, Shelby Crouch, Dalton Crouch, Dylan Hawkins, and Mekala Crouch.
