(all visitations and services are at Collegeside) Robert passed from this life suddenly on Wednesday October 14, 2015 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born January 9, 1953 in Chelsea, Massachusetts to the late Francis Raymond "Doc" and Edith Evans McPherson Toline. Robert and his family were long-time members of Collegeside Church of Christ, where he had loved to teach Sunday School, especially the high school class. Robert graduated from Putnam County Senior High School in 1971. He received a BS Degree in Industrial Technology from Tennessee Technological University in 1976 and earned a graduate degree from Tech as part of the first MBA class in August, 1977. Robert was with Procter & Gamble for 11 years before returning to Cookeville in 1989. He was plant Manager at Gold Medal in Baxter and Operations manager for the Sparta Spoke Factory before beginning his own business as House Doctors Handyman Service in 1999 (now Highland Home Improvement). He truly loved people, never met a stranger, and sincerely wanted to make a positive difference in peoples' lives. You never had to guess where you stood with Robert! He was a quiet mentor to many. Robert was a loving, strict daddy to his sons, spending many happy years at football and baseball fields and wrestling rings around Tennessee. He supported and encouraged his boys in everything they ever did. Robert was a "die-hard" Tennessee football fan, always saying "all is well when Tennessee wins" (Thank-you Butch Jones for the win over Georgia, the last UT game Robert watched.) He especially loved being a Papaw to his Alyssa and was looking forward to meeting his two new grandchildren. Robert enjoyed making 18th century furniture, antiquing, gardening and cooking. He was proud of his family history as some of the earliest settlers of Tennessee and enjoyed genealogy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Toline; mother-in-law, Nancy Leslie; and brother-in-law, Tony Miller. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Pamela Leslie Toline (whom he married September 3, 1977 in Cookeville); sons, Robert E. (Kelly) Toline, Jr. of Nashville, Morgan (Alexandra) Toline of Arlington, TN, and Benjamin Toline of Nashville; precious granddaughters, Alyssa and Olivia Toline, and precious Baby Toline who is due in March of 2016; brother, Eric (Judy) Toline of Madison, AL; two sisters, Gail Miller of New Johnsonville, TN and Lillian (Mike) Hickman of Gallatin, TN; father-in-law, Eldon (Carolyn) Leslie of Cookeville; sister-in-law, Belinda Leslie of Leiper's Fork, TN; two brothers-in-law, Mitch (Geana) Leslie of Cookeville, Winston (Amy) Leslie of Springfield, VA; and several nieces and nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Employees of Highland Home Improvement and Members of Cookeville Charter Chapter of BNI. Active Pallbearers will be family and friends. Memorials may be made to the Collegeside Bread of Life Ministry, 252 East 9th Street, Cookeville, TN 38501. Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements (931) 526-6111.
