Funeral services for Mr. Roger Dean Stuck, 86, of Swannanoa, North Carolina, and Rockwell, North Carolina, will be conducted Monday, June 20, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Phillips Family Cemetery. Carol and Mitch Brand will officiate. Mr. Stuck died Saturday June 11, 2011, at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Salisbury, North Carolina. Mr. Stuck was born November 6, 1924, in Ventura County, California and was the son of the late William Henry and Marion Ready Stuck. Mr. Stuck was a veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946. He graduated from California Polytechnic University with bachelor"�s degree and North Carolina State University with a master"�s degree both in engineering. He taught at Warren Wilson College in Swannanoa, North Carolina for 39 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Opal Christine Phillips Stuck and a sister, Dorothy Parks. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Earline Stuck of Vancouver, Washington; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Wayne Swiers of Rockwell, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Will and Jim Stuck, Robert Swiers and Jessica Ellis and a brother-in-law, Harvey Phillips of Cookeville. Mr. Stuck"�s family will receive friends on Monday from 9:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Friends of North Carolina State Veterans Home, P. O. Box 599, Salisbury, North Carolina 28145
