Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Mae Peek West, age 81, of Cookeville, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 11 at Dyer Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Garrett officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Thursday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. West passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 9, 2016 at NHC of Cookeville. She was born June 5, 1935 in Overton County, TN to the late Thomas and Cordia Tayse Peek. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John L. West; son, Donnie West; four brothers, Elmis, Edward, James, Kenny Peek; infant brother, Lonnie Peek; and infant sister, Sara Peek. Mrs. West was a homemaker. She was fondly remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and friend. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Betty Sue West, Johnny and Lucille West; four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Jim Haney, Anna and Darrell Garrett, Sara and Tim Shoemake, Wanda and Tom Jones, all of Cookeville; five sisters and brother -in-laws, Lola Jean Owens, Claudine and Raybon Tinch, Ruby Hawkins, Betty and Charles Key, and Kathy and Howard Turner; three brothers and sister-in-laws, Charles and Sandra Peek, Jimmy Peek, and Billy and Luann Peek; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
