Graveside services and interment for Mrs. Rose Ella 'Cricket' Austin, age 72 of Baxter, will be held Friday April 3, 2020 at West Cemetery in the Fairview community of Putnam County. Houston Austin will officiate. Cricket died suddenly, Tuesday March 31, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born September 19, 1947 in Putnam County to the late Willie and Louecretia Smith Bean. Cricket was a devoted wife, loved her children and grandchildren, and had a love for life. She enjoyed reading, camping and attending horse shows with her husband. In addition to her parents, Cricket was preceded in death by sister, Savannah Allen; nephew, Jeff Smith; sister-in-law, Sue Bruce and by brother-in-law, Jimmy Smith. Cricket is survived by her husband of 43 years, Garry Austin; sons, Mike (Kim) Austin of Cookeville and J R (Jo Ellen) Farley of Algood; grandchildren, Cody Austin, Kaelyn Austin and Jesse Farley; sister, Caroline Smith of Somerset, KY; brothers-in-law, Rick (Gayle) Austin, Jerry (Linda) Austin and James Bruce; and by a host of nieces and nephews. Family visitation will be held Friday at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Baxter chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
