Graveside Services for Mrs. Rosie Lucille Huffer, age 84 of Cookeville, will be held Monday, December 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sand Springs Cemetery in Monterey, TN. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Mrs. Huffer was born May 23, 1930 in Monticello, KY. to the late Luther Troxell and Sarah Wayne Hicks. Rosie was a well natured, loving, kind and compassionate lady. She was an remarkable mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was an avid reader and spent many hours gracefully relaxing on the porch watching birds. She loved spending time outdoors admiring the beauty that lay before her. Rosie also had a passion for quilt making and was known by many friends and family for her delicious Christmas fudge. Mrs. Huffer is survived by her son, Artie Walker of Cookeville; one granddaughter, Shannon Walker (husband Jeff) Watson of Elizabethtown KY; one, great granddaughter, Tori Leigh Drew. She also is survived by one sister, Brenda Ledbetter of Monticello KY; three brothers, Robert Troxell of Kokomo IN, Hack Troxell of Algood, TN, and Donald Troxell of Bowling Green, KY as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Huffer was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Walker & second husband, Allen Huffer, sisters, Mary Bruster, Georgia Gleason, Margie Davis, Susie Gibson and an infant sister, Linda Troxell, brothers, Ned, Carl and Ernest Troxell. Bro. Ken Haney will be conducting services.
