Funeral services for Mr. Roy Dale Bohannon, 63 of Cookeville will be held Thursday October 25 at 11 a.m. at Eastwood Baptist Church with interment to follow in Rocky Point Cemetery. Rev. Scott Griner, Rev. Bob Pharris, and Rev. Clint Walker will officiate. Mr. Bohannon died Monday evening October 22, 2012 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born September 16, 1949 in Putnam County to the late Edward Archie and Eula Mae Lee Bohannon. Roy was a self-employed Master Brick Mason in Cookeville and surrounding area. He was a member and Deacon at Eastwood Baptist Church and a former long-time member and Deacon at Rocky Point Baptist Church. Roy was a well-known bass guitarist player who played in several quartets and churches. He loved any kind of racing and was an avid dirt track race car driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tex Bohannon. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Joyce Ann Woolbright Bohannon (whom he married March 25, 1967 in Putnam County); son and daughter-in-law, Ashton & Lora Bohannon; daughter and son-in-law, Libby & Bryan Ratermann; six grandchildren, McKenzie, Kendall, and Lizzie Bohannon, Harley, Liberty, and Isabell Ratermann; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold & Linda Bohannon, and James & Pam Bohannon; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Bohannon all of Cookeville. Pallbearers will be Nealy Crawley, George Buck, Gary Stacy, Darrell, David, Brian, Eddie, and Darrian Bohannon. His family will receive friends Wednesday after 4 p.m. at Eastwood Baptist Church.
