Roy William Smith

Funeral services for Roy William Smith, age 59, of Cookeville will be held on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 10, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Dyer Funeral Home. Roy passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born July 9, 1950 in Putnam County to the late William Harlan Smith and Dora Rose Fields Smith. Mr. Smith was a self employed roofer for many years before he became disabled. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be missed by his family. Roy is survived by a special companion, Joe Ann Wilson: two sons: Roy Lynn Smith and wife Melissa of Cookeville and William Anthony Smith of Silver Point and one daughter; Patricia Jones and husband Ken of Cookeville. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Rylyn Smith, Shyan Smith, Alayah Smith, Erica Smith, Amanda Smith, Cassidy Nichole Smith, Justin Smith and Gavin Jones. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his wife- Anna Ruth Smith, a daughter-Marsha Diane Smith and a sister, Diane Smith. Bro. Frank Davis will conduct the services.
