Royce Mcbroom

Private funeral services for Wilbur Royce McBroom, age 86 of Cookeville, were held Thursday September 3 at Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment was in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Royce passed away Tuesday morning September 1, 2020 at Signature HealthCare of Putnam County. He was born July 19, 1934 in Putnam County to the late Sanford and Rubye Morphew McBroom. Royce attended the Church of Christ. He was a retired maintenance supervisor at Tennessee Tech University. He enjoyed many road trips with his wife Glendia, spending time with his grand boys, cars, yard work, gardening, building birdhouses and solving word search puzzles. He was great with his hands and he could build or fix just about anything. He is survived by his son, Tony (Gayla) McBroom of Cookeville; two grandsons, Anthony (Philusa) McBroom of Marietta, GA, Andrew (Kensey) McBroom of Nashville, TN; great-granddaughter, Jocey McBroom; two brothers, Morris (Mary) McBroom, Dale (Terry) McBroom of Cookeville; three sisters, Linda (Kat) Maxwell of Baxter, Wanda (David) Kilpatrick of Crossville, and Judy (Richard) Payne of Baxter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Glendia Joyce Loftis McBroom; and brother, Donnie McBroom. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Tennessee, Cumberlands.
