Ruby Coffman

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Jewel Coffman, 94 of Cookeville will be held Tuesday April 9 at 12 noon in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Dr. Howard Dailey and Bro Mike Ayers officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in Jackson County. Mrs. Coffman died Saturday evening April 6, 2013 in Standing Stone Care and Rehabilitation Center in Monterey. She was born November 9, 1918 in Jackson County to the late Ona Allen Johnson. Although a homemaker, she was a devoted minister"�s wife who always played an active role helping her late husband in his ministry of over 50 years. She was well-known as a "Great Woman of God"�. She had a passion for cooking, sharing wonderful meals with family and friends. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Lester Coffman; three sons, James Coffman, Ray Cofffman, and infant Coffman; two sisters, Gracie Johnson Thomas, and Mildred Corpening; and two brothers, Herman Johnson, and Haskell Johnson She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law,, Kenneth and Gladys Coffman of Hilham; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Geneva Coffman of Monterey, Thelma and Dr. Howard Dailey, and Annette and Robert Cassatt all of Cookeville; eight grandchildren, Jason Coffman, Jimmy (Bridgette) Coffman, Jackie Coffman, Tina (Mike) Ayers, Bruce Dailey, Lonnie (Rebecca) Dailey, Steven Warrens, and Candace (Chris) Smith; 13 great grandchildren, and 15 great great grandchildren; and her brother, Ernest Johnson of Cookeville. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Coffman"�s family will receive friends Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
