Funeral services with military honors for Sammie Reeder Carr, age 74 of Cookeville will be at 1 p.m. Saturday April 8 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Garry Anderson will officiate.
His family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of services.
Sam passed away suddenly Wednesday evening April 5, 2023 at his home.
He was born August 15, 1948 in Putnam County, TN to the late Robert Helms Carr and Rosalie Herd Carr.
Sam was a US Army veteran. He was retired from Fleetguard (Cummins Filtration) after 32 years of service. He later worked at Algood Walmart and retired after 15 years of service.
He is survived by his sweetheart, Vickie Callahan; daughters, Lisa Carr of Smithville and Elizabeth (Kevin) Marengo of Cookeville; son, Jonathan Callahan of Cookeville; sister, Claudine (Dennis) Tucker of Cookeville; brothers, Mickey (Maggie) Carr and Joe Carr all of Cookeville; granddaughter, Savannah Faith Marengo; special friend, David Patel and his family; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by an infant son.
