Steven Dersham

A Celebration of Life Service for Steven James Dersham, 26 of Cookeville and formerly of Celina, TN and Florida, will be held Thursday, June 8th at 5:00 p.m. at Dyer Funeral Home. Celebrant Judy Duke will officiate. Steven’s family will receive friends Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. He died suddenly Saturday, June 3, 2017 at his residence. He was born September 14, 1990 in Boca Raton, FL to Steven Gregory and Linda Majewski Dersham (who now reside in Johnson City, TN). Moving with his family to Tennessee from Florida in 2008, Steven graduated from Clay Co. High School in 2009 and played basketball for the Bulldogs. Free spirited and adventurous, Steven lived life to the fullest and made the most of every day with the love of his life, Bre, by his side. His many interests included motorcycling bike trips, fishing and Pearl Jam’s music. He loved people, his dog Lucy and was a diehard fan of the Miami Heat and Dwyane Wade. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ted and Delores Majewski and paternal grandfather, James William Dersham. In addition to his parents, he is survived by fiance, Bre Bilbrey; sisters and brothers in laws, Jessica and Robert Anderson of Naples, FL and Shannon and Edgar Alvarado of Johnson City and Tonya Moore of Edmonton, KY; nieces, Mia Alvarado and Cienna Anderson; nephew, Evan Alvarado; grandmother, Judy Kother; and numerous, aunts, uncles and cousins.
