Funeral services for Mrs. Susie Belle Scott, 91 of Cookeville will be held Thursday September 1st at 1 o"�clock at Willow Avenue Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 31 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of the service at Willow Avenue Church of Christ. Mrs. Scott died Sunday morning, August 28, 2011 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Scott was born April 4, 1920 in Watertown, Tennessee to the late William Joe and Minnie Pearl Young Phillips. She was a member of Willow Avenue Church of Christ. She worked a number of years at the former Wilson Sporting Goods and was a retired custodian at Willow Avenue Church of Christ. She was known in the community for her many works for others. She was a woman of great faith, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Danny Fox of Cookeville; five grandchildren, Cindy and Terry Langley, Susanne Harrington, Trish and Wes Parker, Casey and Andrea Fox all of Cookeville; Terry Fox of Knoxville; six great grandchildren, Cody and Jake Harrington, Ashlee & Dallas Parker and Jaxon & Maddox Fox all of Cookeville; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Durell Scott; son, Edwin "Potsie"� Scott; sister and brother-in-law, Lucy and Basil Jackson, and a brother and sister-in-law, Halbert and Hershel Lee Phillips. Pallbearers will be Casey Fox, Terry Fox, Wes Parker, Mitch Harrington, Terry Langley, Cody Harrington and Jake Harrington. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jaxon and Maddox Fox, Ashlee and Dallas Parker. The family wishes to thank the nurses from NHC Homecare, the caregivers from Home Instead and the nurses and aides on 6 East at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Memorial contributions may be made to Willow Meals %Willow Avenue Church of Christ, 1150 South Willow Avenue, Cookeville, TN 38501 or Happy Haven Home for Children, 2311 Wakefield Drive, Cookeville, TN 38501 Bro. Clarence Deloach, Bro. Ernest Abston, Bro. Mike Webb and Bro. Jeremiah Tatum, will officiate the services.
