Funeral services for Thelma Lee Robbins, 82, of Cookeville will be held Friday, June 17 at 11 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Max Mayo and Rev. Drew Shelley will officiate. Mrs. Robbins passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 at her home. She was born April 30, 1929 in Jackson County, Tennessee to the late Claude and Lucy Miranda Gentry Jaquess. Mrs. Robbins was an active member of Cookeville First United Methodist Church for over 50 years and an active member of the Backsliders Sunday School Class. She was a homemaker. She was an avid gardener and loved horses. She and her late husband attended the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in Shelbyville, TN for the past 42 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, J B Robbins (who died January 25, 2011), two sisters, Pearl Phillips and Ila Kinnaird, two brothers, Cecil Jaquess and Doyle Jaquess. Mrs. Robbins is survived by son, Jerry Robbins of Cookeville; two grandchildren, Rachel and her husband Whit Addicks of Knoxville, and Jason Robbins of Cookeville; two great-grandchildren, Lucy and Carter Addicks of Knoxville and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Backsliders Sunday School Class at Cookeville First United Methodist Church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Cookeville First United Methodist Church, 165 East Broad Street, Cookeville, TN 38501.
