Funeral services for Mr. W. T. "Tom"� Halfacre, 85 of the Granville community will be held Thursday, November 17 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Bro. Clarence Deloach will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 5 PM to 8 PM and Thursday noon until time of services. Mr. Halfacre died Monday morning November 15, 2011 in NHC of Cookeville. He was born February 14, 1926 in the Martin"�s Creek Community of Putnam County to the late Logan Landon and Mary Mable Eller Halfacre. Mr. Halfacre was of the Church of Christ faith. He was a WWII veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. Mr. Halfacre retired from General Motors. After retirement he served as an OSHA inspector and elevator inspector for the Tennessee Department of Labor. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Robert James Halfacre, Charles Logan Halfacre, and Ernest Wayne Halfacre; and sister, Estelle Baird. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Cowan Halfacre of Granville (whom he married July 7, 1946 in Rossville, GA); two sons and daughter-in-law, William D. and Glynda Carol Halfacre of Granville, and Thomas Steven Halfacre of Fort Lauderdale, FL; sister, Margaret Gragg of Baxter; two grandchildren, Thomas Brook Halfacre and his wife, Kimberly, Logan Douglas Halfacre and his wife,Jill; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brook Halfacre, Doug Halfacre, Wayne Roberts, Danny Cowan, Bob Edwards and Ken Minnear.
