Vada "Vadie" Mee

Funeral Services for Miss Vada (Vadie) Mee, age 83, of Cookeville, will be Sunday, October 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Dodson Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service. Miss. Vadie Mee passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Mabry Health Care Center in Gainesboro. She was born July 31, 1930 in Gainesboro TN to the late Pierce Mee and Lura T. Jackson Mee. Vadie was a loving, caring and kind lady who never seemed to meet a stranger and touched many lives with her warm personality. She especially loved children and cherished time spent with her family and friends. She loved her baby dolls and coloring books. She also enjoyed going to church and loved to sing. Vadie is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by seven sisters; Valie Wilson, Mallie Dailey, Angeline Coffee, Ida Rose Mee, Ella Hooten, Louise Staford and an infant sister; Joann Mee, five brothers; William, Albert, Raymond, Paul Edward and George Mee. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Mabry Health Care Center for the love, kindness and care that was given to Miss Vadie. Pallbearers will be Jeff Hardy, Caleb Lawton, James Gibbons, Mark Scott, Roger Dailey, Carol Lawton and Robert Crabtree. Bro. Bill Haney will be conducting the services.
