Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Willene Flatt, age 87 of Cookeville and formerly of Algood, will be held Monday, July 13th at 1:00p.m. at the Algood Family Event Center. Bro. Randy Riggs and Bro. Marc Burnett will officiate. Interment will follow in Algood City Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Sunday from 5pm until 8pm and again Monday from 11am until service time at the event center. Due to COVID-19 precautions, social distancing measures will be observed. Willene died Friday July 10, 2020 at her residence. She was born March 23, 1933 in Putnam County, TN to the late Alvin C Crawford and Rose Elizabeth Willeford Crawford. Willene was loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a strong work ethic throughout her life and was employed at Tutco as a press welder for 27 years, retiring in 1999. She also worked at Cookeville Shirt Factory. She was a gifted homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed welcoming friends and family into her home. She was a great Christian lady and was a member of Colonial View Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Flatt; sisters, Golda Jones and Claudine Richardson; and brother, Cecil Crawford. She is survived by her daughter, Marcia (Wayne) Key of Cookeville; son, Raymond (Denise) Flatt of Cookeville, David Flatt of Clarksvillle, Roger Flatt of Bossier City, LA and Terry (Bethany) Flatt of Cleveland, TN, nine grandchildren, Brandon (Stephanie) Flatt, Christie Flatt, Andrea (Josh) Walker, Tara Flatt, Shannon (TJ) Owens, Karen (Josh) Eustice, Lauren Flatt, Susan (Jared) Davis and Stephanie Key; eleven great grandchildren; and by brother, Donald (Wilma) Crawford. Pallbearers will be Danny Richardson, Mike Richardson, Jamie Bowman, Chuck Ledbetter, John Flatt, David Hunter, Jared Davis and Josh Eustice. Honorary pallbearers will be Beecher Underwood, Dale Reels, Danny Reels, Ronnie Flatt, Dennis Jones and Steve Ferguson. Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
