Her family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Baxter Chapel.

Her family states: Our beautiful and wonderful mom, Ada Maureen Madwell, went to be with Jesus and her loved ones who have made the journey before her on August 28, 2026. She was born on September 29, 1938 in Putnam County, TN to her parents, Waymon Ira and Vallie Mai Dunn Maynard.

She grew up in the Hickey Community near Silver Point, TN. She had a lot of friends who lived close by and had a wonderful childhood. She attended the elementary school there in Hickey and then attended high school at Baxter Seminary in Baxter, TN.

Her dream was to be a school teacher from the time she was about five years old. She got the chance to fulfill this dream about 1969. She became a teachers' aide at Dowelltown Elementary school while attending Tennessee Tech University to earn her BS in Elementary Education in 1974. She continued her education and earned her Masters Degree in Elementary Education. She was a teacher for 29 years, starting at Dowelltown Elementary School in Dowelltown, TN and then finishing the year at The West School in Liberty, TN the year of the tornado in Dowelltown in 1974. After that she taught second grade at Smithville Elementary School in Smithville, TN until she retired. She always said some of the happiest moments of her life were in her classroom.

Our mom had a beautiful singing voice. When she was young she and her younger sister, Maxine and friend, Krien Carter LeFever, used to sing together as The Silver Point Trio in local churches and sometimes on the radio at WHUB in Cookeville. Later on I remember our family going to relatives' houses on Saturday nights and my mom, daddy and the relatives would play music and sing together. My mom could sing beautifully and play a little guitar and also took lessons to learn bass guitar, which she got pretty good at, as well.

She loved flowers and always had some planted in the yard and lots of hanging baskets. She also loved hummingbirds and had a feeder on the front porch and couldn't wait for them to show up in the spring. Spring was her favorite season but she really loved Christmas and we would enjoy putting up her tree and decorating it and her living room. But right after New Years Day, she'd start saying " The buttercups will be blooming soon!"

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Freda Maynard and Maxine Maynard Johnson; brother, Leonard Maynard; first husband and father of her children, Chester Hendrixson; second husband, Ray Madwell.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and George Dickson; son, Chris Hendrixson; grandchildren, Emily Hendrixson Watts and husband, Bryce watts; Cristin Hendrixson Ashburn and husband, Blake Ashburn; Ashley Hendrixson, Stephanie Sutton and Brittney Sutton; great-grandchildren, Kellan Brown, Emma Brown, Taytum Ashburn, Oaklyn Ashburn; niece, Pam Johnson; as well as several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She dearly loved her family and we loved her beyond words. She will be constantly and fondly remembered and terribly missed until we are reunited in Heaven.

Chris Hendrixson, Kellan Brown, Jeff Maynard, Greg Gehring, Blake Ashburn and Robert "Tank" Brown will serve as pallbearers.
