DYER CHAPEL-Albert "Bill" Nash, a devoted dairy farmer, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 86. He was born on December 26, 1938, in Putnam County, Tennessee, and lived a life that embodied the values of hard work, dedication, and service to his community.
Bill's passion for agriculture began at an early age, and he dedicated his life to farming. He took great pride in managing his dairy farm, where he could often be found driving tractors, caring for his animals, and tending to his crops. His commitment to farming was matched only by his enthusiasm for watching sports and traveling with organizations such as the Co-Op and Farm Bureau. Bill cherished spending time with both family and friends, continuously finding joy in the connections he made along the way.
A graduate of Baxter Seminary in 1957, Bill went on to become a prominent figure in his community. He served as the local Farm Bureau Chairman for 10 years and on the board for over 40 years, and served on the Farm Bureau State Board for 10 years, further demonstrating his dedication to local agriculture. He also held a position on the Tennessee Farmers Co-Op Board, where he worked tirelessly to support the farming community.
He served as deacon and treasurer at Nash Grove Baptist Church for over 40 years where he was a member.
Bill Nash was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rowena Massa Nash of Baxter, whom he married on October 29, 1960. Together, they raised a loving family that includes sons Perry (Kim) Nash and Ross (Tonya) Nash, as well as daughter Dianne (Chris) Peterson, all residing in Baxter. Bill also leaves behind three sisters, Freda (Harry) Todd of Tampa, FL, Lucy (Mike) Evans of Atlanta, GA, and Leva Flatt of Baxter. His family tree flourished with seven grandchildren: Emily (Casey) Dill, Daniel (Erin) Nash, Jori (Sean) Reynolds, Ryan (Sara) Nash, Olivia (Caleb) Cloud, William Rexton (Neely) Jarvis, and Morgan (Michael) Hutchinson, along with ten great-grandchildren, Jordan Matthew Dill, Caleb Bryson Dill, Madison Brooke Dill, Allie Grace Nash, Lily Faith Nash, Haley Hope Nash, Gunner Earl Reynolds, Aubrey Dawn Nash, Turner Hutchinson and Ellie Cloud who brought immense joy to his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Iron Nash, Sr. and Ada Ann Bussell Nash, as well as siblings Ammon Nash, Lloyd Nash, Floyd Nash, and Willard Nash Jr.
